Hotmail was one of the first webmail services on the Internet. It was commercially launched on July 4, 1996, symbolizing "freedom" from ISP-based email and the ability to access a user's inbox from anywhere in the world. The name "Hotmail" was chosen out of many possibilities ending in "-mail" as it included the letters HTML. Visit Hotmail

  1. I use hotmail for my spam email address-the ones i give out to retailers in stores or other places where commercial email spamming is likely. :)

  2. I was switched over to Outlook by the system, and I have had nothing but problems with my email every since. To me, Outlook is the worst email system I have yet encountered. If this is the best you people have to offer the public, you need to close up shop, and start all over again. An extremely dissatisfied customer

I am MORE than UN happy. I had a stroke a few years ago. Just typing with one hand is hard enough. I live in a 'Assisted Living/we eat @ terrible hours. I am the SOLE person who has a PC. WHY do I have to struggle with THIS when I STRUGGLED to relearn the old version. MY son/wife/& new baby are in another state. No, I can't move there & get the rehab I have here.

  6. Microsoft converted their Hotmail to Outlook. Ever since then their spam/junk filter has not worked. When you complain to their support people all they do is suggest for you to either set up your "block" filter or your "safe" filter. The problem with that is that I receive almost, and sometimes more than, 100 spam every day and they are constantly changing just enough in the spam to make both those filters a mute point! They never address the fact that they are unwilling to FIX their filter so it works again. It worked perfectly until they converted over from Hotmail to Outlook.
